Katherine Gardner, VMDDr. Katherine (Kate) Gardner, our Chief of Staff, grew up in Ingomar and Franklin Park, Pennsylvania and now resides in Amity. She received her undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1966, and then went on to earn a VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1969.

Prior to joining Meadowlands Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Gardner spent a one year residency in large animal pathology and four years at Castle Shannon Animal Hospital in Pittsburgh. Her medical interests include canine reproduction, ear cropping, pediatrics and a wide range of surgeries.

At home, Dr. Gardner has a show kennel of Siberian huskies, a golden retriever, a bull terrier, a yellow nape amazon parrot and 8 (yes 8!) Arabian horses. In her spare time, she enjoys showing her dogs and horses, as well as traveling.

Laurel Marshall, VMD with Dog Mai-LeeDr. Laurel Marshall has been at Meadowlands Veterinary Hospital for over 25 years. She grew up in Washington, PA and still lives there today. Dr. Marshall earned her undergraduate degree from Westminster College in 1972, and her VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. Prior to joining our team, she practiced veterinary medicine in Princeton, NJ.

Dr. Marshall's medical interests include dermatology and feline medicine. It's no surprise that she has two Bengal cats at home — as well as two French bulldogs, one pug and a rose breasted cockatoo. In her free time, Dr. Marshall enjoys playing the violin, reading and, of course, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers!

Kathleen Dougherty, DVMDr. Kathleen Dougherty has been a part of the Meadowlands Veterinary Hospital team since 2003. She graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1999 with high honors, and then went on to pursue a DVM degree from Michigan State University in 2003, again graduating with high honors. Dr. Dougherty has a an interest in general veterinary medicine.

Born and raised 'Black and Gold,' Dr. Dougherty was born the same year the Pittsburgh Steelers won their first back-to-back Superbowl Championships. Needless to say, she's a HUGE Steelers fan! She now resides in Beaver County with her cat Grissom and two dogs — Conner, a Cocker Spaniel, and Jazzy, an English Mastiff.

Dr. Jacqueline Fera with a canine friendDr. Jacqueline Fera was born in Pittsburgh and grew up in Upper St. Clair. She received her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Washington and Jefferson College in 2013 and her VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania in May 2019. Her interests in veterinary medicine include reproduction, pediatrics, and medical genetics.

At home, Dr. Fera enjoys playing the piano and violin, reading, and playing video games. She loves going to classical and metal concerts as well as participating in dog shows and studying different breeds. She has a Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen named Clarice, a crested gecko named Cocoa Bean, and an Indian ringneck parakeet who is supposed to be named Marley but only answers to “Bird.”
